QM and ISO TS 16949 Quality management system for the automotive industry - see although VDA 6.4

Since the end of the nineties there is the ISO / TS 16949, including all currently worldwide and published quality standards and the requirements of the automotive industry; It combines them all to one standard. It was based on the ISO 9001:2008 – today it works well with the ISO 9001:12015 - but contains additional requirements for the automotive industry in the management and organization system. The standard is used by all car manufacturers in the world.
This standard is binding for all suppliers and manufacturers.

The ISO 16949 applies to all sites of the manufacturers of products and services and their suppliers for the products, product material, services (such as painting, surface treatment and electroplating) and other products. Still applies to the entire supply chain in the automotive industry, i.e., for both direct and indirect suppliers. ISO/TS 16949 is a mandatory requirement for the inclusion in the supplier base for the automobile manufacturer. ISO/TS 16949, but not by all the certification companies can be removed, but only from institutes of the IATF (International Automotive Task Force) are permitted. Requirements of the ISO/TS 16949 are e.g. the strategic business planning, the further development of the improvement process, a stable process capability, the reduction of the spread and the reduction of waste in the supply chain and the optimization of the value added chain.
